The Spot Removal tool is almost always dead-on in its process of auto-correcting an imperfection targeted for repair. However impressive this technology is, much like Photoshop's Content Aware Fill feature is, not alway right. Sometimes we have to help it make a better selection. |

Note that in this rollover illustration Lightroom's initial auto-sampling point was more than just a bit off. The circle with the tiny 'plus' sign in the middle is the original spot I wanted to fix. The inside of this circle provides a 'live' preview and changes on-the-fly as I would drag its sampling area, the circle below, to a better place for the tool to work with. |
